EP Special Activities

EP staff arrange various special activities that are unique to the program. These activities not only support our students' learning but they also help to build the EP spirit and identity in the school community.

EP Special Activities include weekly Assemblies, Small Group Excursions, Guest Speakers, EP Book Week, EP Activity Day and EP Camp.

EP Assemblies

EP Students enjoy Grade Assemblies every week.

Weekly Assemblies are a special time for students to unite as a grade. Students receive recognition in front of their peers by receiving Merit Awards and Class Shields. Other activities include celebrating birthdays, singing songs and listening to student presentations. Assemblies are unique to EP and they provide students with an alternative English Environment.

Small Group Excursions

During each school year, EP students enjoy Small Group Excursions with their grade or class. The excursions relate to content that students are learning in English or Science at school.

Small Group Excursions provide students with the opportunity to practise speaking English in realistic contexts, see concepts learnt at school applied to real life situations and to develop important social skills with their peers.

Each year the location of Small Group Excursions may change. Our students have previously visited Siam Ocean World, Dusit Zoo, UFM Bakery, the Bangkok Science Museum, Joe Louis Puppet Theatre and the Bangkok National Museum .

Guest Speakers

EP teachers invite Guest Speakers to visit our school and give presentations to our students.

Having an expert in a particular subject speak to our students helps them to obtain up to date information from someone who is passionate about their subject area.

Our Guest Speakers include staff from Greenpeace to talk about environmental issues, a Scientist from the Geo-Informatics Thailand Space Technology Agency to speak about satellite technology in Thailand and also a Veterinarian to speak about Animals.

EP Book Week

EP Book Week is an annual activity to celebrate books and reading in EP. During Book week, exciting activities take place which encourage our students to be enthusiastic about reading and to develop a love of books.

EP Book Week activities include the EP Library Art Competition, reading activities in classrooms, Inter-Class Reading Race, Book Giveaways and the Scholastic Book Fair.

The Scholastic Books Fair provides students with an opportunity to buy good quality English books of their own. Assumption College EP now holds the sales record for Book Fairs in Thailand !

EP Activity Day

EP Activity Day is perhaps our students' favourite day of the year! The annual EP Activity Day began in 2006 and involves all EP students and teachers.

The goal of EP Activity Day is for all students to participate in fun games, make friends with students in other grades and enjoy friendly competition.

Students are divided into four team colours and then compete in various games including the Three Legged Race, Tyre Races, Obstacle Course, Tennis Ball Throw, Tunnel Ball and Running Races. The highlight of the day is when the finals of the running, grade relays and teachers races are held at the end of the day.

EP Camp

EP Camp is held over three days in Term 2 of each school year. All of our Grade 5 and Grade 6 students attend the camp which is held at the beautiful facilities of Saint Gabriel's Academic and Recreation Centre in Nontaburi.

The objectives of EP Camp are to build EP identity and spirit and give students an opportunity to practise English outside the classroom, build friendships, enjoying the outdoors and foster their personal development.
