Recruitment

Since the English Program commenced in 2002, Assumption College Primary Section has employed approximately 80 foreign teachers to teach EP students. Now that we have Grade 1-6 classes, the school employs 31 foreign staff per year.

Each year we receive applications from approximately 150 teachers. The teachers we choose are qualified with a Bachelor of Education or an equivalent post graduate qualification. We always give priority to applicants from abroad who have recent experience working in schools in western countries. This helps to ensure that the EP staff maintains modern teaching methodology and theories.

Our aim is to select teachers who are creative, enthusiastic, flexible, cooperative and most importantly enjoy working with young learners. We believe that this will ensure that EP students not only learn but also feel safe and happy at school, are motivated to learn, behave properly and respect Thai and foreign teachers appropriately.

Grade 1, 2 and 3 teachers teach their own class English, Mathematics, Science and Health. They are responsible for the welfare of their own class as teachers are in Western Countries. We prefer to employ Early Childhood or Primary trained teachers for these positions.

Grade 4, 5 and 6 teachers specialise in teaching English, Mathematics, Science or Health and teach more than one class. These teachers are also responsible for the welfare of their Homeroom class as teachers are in Western Countries. We accept applications from Primary and Secondary School trained teachers for these positions.

We also employ specialist Computer and Physical Education teachers.

All teachers teach for approximately 18 hours per week. Class sizes are 20 students for Grade 1 and 25 students for older Grades.

Assumption College Bangkok has high expectations of its EP teachers and therefore offers teachers a competitive salary package.

Generally our contract period is from April to March. All contracts are for a minimum of twelve months.
