Student Application Process for Grade2-6

Explanation:

Many parents express interest in moving their son from another school or a Regular Program class into a Grade 2-6 English Program class. The English Program does accept new students into these grades if a position becomes available.

In the interest of the new student himself and of the other students already in the class , EP staff will give preference to new students who display academic competence and an ability to communicate in English
(and Thai for students moving from International Schools ) to enable them to follow the lessons being taught by teachers.

1. Applications from parents wishing to enroll their son in Grade 2-6 EP classes will be considered during two applications periods/year only. The application periods are during the months of February and September.

2. Students will only be considered if they have achieved marks of at least 75% in all subjects in their current school or the Regular Program at ACP.

3. Initial Applications should be sent directly to Brother Director's Secretary, Miss Paiboon Singkhur. The initial application should contain a letter of introduction from the parents and a copy of the student's recent academic results. The introduction letter should be written in English and contain the information below:

     I. A summary of the student's personal (and family) background.

II. A summary of the student's previous exposure to English.

III..  An explanation of why the parents want their son to learn in EP.

IV. An explanation of how the parents will assist their son to learn in EP.

4. After reviewing the information above, Brother Director may forward applications which he considers to be suitable to EP administration staff in the Primary School.

5. EP administration staff in the Primary School will review the application and if positions are available in the requested Grade, they may contact the parents to invite the student to sit for an entrance exam. The entrance exam will contain a combination of written and oral sections at the level of students currently studying in the requested EP Grade .

6. On the day of attending the entrance exam, parents must pay a non-refundable 1,000 baht application fee to EP staff.

7.  Parents will be advised within one week after the exam of whether their son will be invited to join the English Program.

8.  If the examiner has advised parents that the student is not suitable to join EP they may not reapply at a later date.
